Winners announced for the International Design Packaging Awards at HBA

The winners of the International Design Packaging Awards were announced at last week HBA event in New York, and it was kids’ toothpaste packaging that made it big.
The Grand Winner and category leader for Personal Care Mass was Theodent Kids by Theodent - a toothpaste that has been turning heads because of it’s luxury-look, gold capped tube, with sleek dispensing mechanism.
But that’s not the only reason why this new product launch has been turning heads, it’s also a chocolate-flavored toothpaste, which may be a way of encouraging even the most teethcleaning shy of children to get brushing morning and night. This year the jury included a selection of packaging and beauty professionals from both the industry and media, and judged the entries accordingon originality, design concept, creative use of new materials, components and decorating processes, technical competency and effective brand messaging.
The prizes were given out by Trae Badge, senior lifestyle editor of The Real Deal, and were given out during a ceremony at the end of the second day of the three day HBA event, and all the competition entries were on display in an allocated area on the showfloor.
Outstanding Packaging Design Recognized At HBA Global
Beauty and packaging professionals gathered at HBA Global, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York, on June 11, 2014, to learn the winners of the International Package Design Awards (IPDA) competition. Trae Bodge, Senior Lifestyle Editor of The Real Deal, served as awards host. As the only design competition that celebrates the year’s most innovative packaging in all beauty product categories, entries in this year competition were received from major brands, niche players and independent companies from all over the world.
The following winners were chosen by the Judging Committee— packaging professionals, brand experts, designers, and members of the media—based on originality, design concept, creative use of new materials, components and decorating processes, technical competency and effective brand messaging.
